§ 38-2-2 — State Board of Human Resources
There shall be a State Board of Human Resources which shall consist of the Governor, as chairman, and six other members, not less than two of whom shall be women, appointed by the Governor without regard to political affiliation but on the basis of recognized interest in welfare work with the advice and consent of the senate. The members of said board shall be appointed by the Governor for a term of six years, and vacancies shall be filled by the Governor for any unexpired term. The state board shall hold meetings at times and places to be prescribed by rules of the state board or as may be designated by the chairman.
