Text

(a)Extraordinary appointments include temporary appointments, emergency appointments, exceptional appointments and provisional appointments.
(b)Whenever the services to be rendered by an appointee are for a temporary period not to exceed 104 workdays and the need for such service is important and urgent, the director may select for such temporary service any person on the proper eligible register without regard to his standing on such register. Successive temporary appointments to the same position or of the same candidate shall not be made under this provision. The acceptance or refusal by an eligible of such temporary appointment shall not affect his standing on the register for regular employment, nor shall a period of temporary service be counted as a part of the probationary service
