Text

The county commission of each of the several counties of the state may, in its discretion and upon application of the sheriff of the county, pay the sheriff’s membership dues in the Alabama Sheriffs Association each year and also the sheriff’s membership dues in the National Sheriffs Association each year. The cost of any such membership dues, upon approval by the county commission, may be paid out of the general fund of the county commission.
