Text
(a)The Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission shall randomly audit law enforcement agencies’ compliance with the reporting requirements under Section 36-21-55.1.
(b)(1) If the commission determines that a law enforcement agency is not in compliance with the requirements under Section 36-21-55.1, it shall notify the law enforcement agency by registered or certified mail of the results of its audit. The law enforcement agency shall have 30 days from receipt of notice to reach compliance with the requirements of Section 36-21-55.1. If a law enforcement agency does not reach compliance within 30 days from receipt of notice, the commission may assess a civil penalty against the agency in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each violation and an additional one hun
