(a)Each person who engages in the fitting and sale of hearing instruments shall annually, on or before January 30, pay to the board a fee as prescribed by rule of the board for renewal of his or her license and shall keep such certificate conspicuously posted in his or her office or place of business at all times. Where more than one office is operated by the licensee, duplicate certificates shall be issued by the board for posting in each location upon payment of the fee prescribed by rule of the board. A license may be reinstated and renewed within two years. The board may renew such expired certificates upon payment of a reinstatement fee as prescribed by the board, in addition to the license renewal fee, to the board. (b) All fees collected by the board shall be set by rule of the board. For calendar year 2016, no single fee shall exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250). For any calendar year thereafter, no single fee may be increased by more than 20 percent per year.
(c) The board shall maintain a program of continuing education for its licensees. No licensee shall have his or her active license renewed unless, in addition to any other requirements of this chapter, the minimum continuing annual education requirements are met.
