§ 32-6-70 — Issuance of Special Tags

Owners of motor vehicles who are residents of the State of Alabama and who hold valid amateur radio station or citizen’s band radio licenses issued by the Federal Communications Commission, upon application, accompanied by proof of ownership of such amateur radio station or citizen’s band radio license, complying with the state motor vehicle laws relating to registration and licensing of motor vehicles, and upon the payment of the regular license fee for tags, as provided by law, and the payment of an additional fee of $3.00, shall be issued license plates, as provided by law, for private or pleasure motor vehicles, upon which, in lieu of the numbers as prescribed by law, shall be inscribed the official amateur radio station or citizen’s band radio call letters of such applicant as assigne
