Text

The board shall have the following responsibilities:

(1)advise the director on medical criteria relating to the safe operation of motor vehicles;
(2)recommend to the director procedures and guidelines for licensing individuals with physical or mental impairment;
(3)initiate the development of medically acceptable report forms;
(4)direct research of medically impaired individuals;
(5)recommend a training course for driver examiners in the medical aspects of licensure;
(6)spearhead efforts to orient the general physician population as well as the public in the medical aspects of driver licensure;
(7)assist in the development of regional driver license medical advisory boards to be constituted similarly to the board established by this division; and (8) evaluate individual problem case
