Text
(a)The tuition reimbursement program is subject to direct appropriations from the Education Trust Fund.
(b)Any monies appropriated for the program that are unexpended at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert, but shall be carried forward for use of the program in the next fiscal year.
(c)Beginning in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, any unexpended funds in excess of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) shall be transferred to the fire college to provide emergency medical services equipment and operations grants to volunteer fire departments and rescue squads. Grants shall be approved by the Alabama Joint Fire Council.
