After the establishment of the uniform system of electronic voting through the implementation of the pilot project, the Secretary of State may provide for the orderly acceptance of counties requesting to participate in the state uniform system. The Secretary of State may establish a list of counties requesting to participate in the state uniform system based on the order of receipt of the resolution of a county governing body. After the Secretary of State has accepted a county in the state uniform system, a county may be eligible for reimbursement of 50 percent of the costs of a lease purchase agreement or contract of not more than eight years in length to purchase an electronic voting system established by the pilot project.
