Commencing on October 1, 2012, the Athens State University Board of Trustees, as created in Section 16-47A-4, shall have exclusive jurisdiction, supervision, and control of Athens State University and the State Board of Education shall be divested of all jurisdiction, power, and authority with regard to the supervision, management, and control of the university, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
