Text
The compact shall encourage, support, and provide high quality educational programs, learning, and service experiences related to the history and diverse cultures of the United States and the State of Alabama, and especially American citizenship, its origins and development, and the positive role models, attributes, and contributions of leaders in the progress of the nation, the American South, Alabama, and its communities; and the application of knowledge and skills important in leadership and citizenship in a free and self-governing society. Its program shall provide a resource of information to support existing leaders, and better equip a new generation of leaders with broad understanding and appreciation of our American system of government and ways in which to make positive difference
