Any person, male or female, otherwise entitled to admission as a student or pupil in such institution of learning, and such only, and who presents to the proper authorities of same a certificate signed by the commander or president and countersigned by the chairman of the scholarship committee of such American Legion or American Legion Auxiliary of Alabama which had donated such $1,250.00 under the provisions of this chapter, granting to him or her a scholarship under the terms of this chapter, shall be entitled to be admitted at such institution as entitled to the benefits of this chapter.
