§ 16-13-5 — Federal Grants, Appropriations, Etc. - Acceptance

The State Treasurer is hereby authorized and empowered to accept from the federal government or any instrumentality thereof, in the name of and for the State of Alabama, any grant from the federal government or any appropriation made by the Congress of the United States or any allocation of federal funds appropriated by the Congress of the United States to the State of Alabama for the purpose of assisting the state in financing a minimum foundation program of public elementary and secondary schools, and in reducing inequalities of educational opportunities through public elementary and secondary schools, and for the general welfare and other purposes.
