§ 14-13-3 — Authority of Commissioner of Department of Corrections to Carry Out Compact; Contracts with Other Member States

The Commissioner of the Department of Corrections is hereby authorized and directed to do all things necessary or incidental to the carrying out of the compact in every particular and he may in his discretion delegate this authority to an official designee. In order to develop an effective corrections policy, the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections is expressly authorized to enter into contracts with other states that have legally joined into the Interstate Corrections Compact as contained in Section 14-13-2. Said contract shall be negotiated between the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections or his designee and such authority as the other state shall legally designate to negotiate such contracts, and the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections is empowered to sign,
