Text
There shall be an executive director of the Office of Prosecution Services and whatever staff is necessary to carry out the purpose of this office. Such director and employees shall not be subject to the provisions of the State Merit System Act but shall be eligible to participate in the State Employees’ Retirement System and shall be credited for retirement purposes by the Alabama State Retirement System for all time employed by the office prior to May 17, 1984, provided that the director and each employee shall pay to the secretary-treasurer within two years from May 17, 1984 the amount he would have been required to contribute to the Employees’ Retirement System for each year of prior service had he been a member, together with eight percent compounded interest.
