Text
In addition to any costs and charges fixed by law upon conviction for violations of municipal ordinances in municipalities having a municipal court, $12.00 shall be assessed and collected as other costs and charges are collected. Five dollars of such sum shall be remitted to the State General Fund; $5.00 shall be remitted to the general fund of the municipality maintaining the municipal court; and $2.00 shall be remitted to the Alabama Peace Officers’ Annuity and Benefit Fund established pursuant to Section 36-21-66. In addition, the governing body of each municipality having a municipal court may by ordinance provide for the imposition of other costs in the maximum amount of $10.00, which sum shall be in addition to any other costs and charges fixed by law for conviction of any municipal
