§ 11-54-211 — Authority of Municipalities to Acquire Real Property for Donation to United States for Defense Purposes; Issuance of Bonds, Etc., to Fund Purchase; Conveyance to “Related Public Corporation.”

Each municipality in this state is hereby authorized (a) to acquire any real property located within the corporate limits of any such municipality or within 25 miles thereof, and (b) to donate said real property so acquired or any real property heretofore acquired by any such municipality to the United States of America for use by the said United States for national defense and related purposes. Each such municipality is hereby authorized to issue its bonds, warrants, or other securities for the purpose of providing funds to purchase said real property for donation to the United States of America. Each such municipality is hereby further authorized to convey any such real property to a “related public corporation” pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 63 of Title 11 for the purpose of enab
