§ 11-50-492 — Election of Members; Filling of Vacancies

The governing body of such municipality shall elect the members of the board. Immediately upon the creation and establishment of the board, the governing body of such municipality shall proceed to elect one member to serve until July 1 of the next ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified; one member to serve until July 1 of the second ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified; and one member to serve until July 1 of the third ensuing year and until his successor is elected and qualified. At the first regular meeting of the governing body of such municipality in the month of June of each year, the said governing body shall elect a successor of the member of the board whose term expires on July 1 following, and the person so elected shall become a mem
