Text
All payments remitted under this article shall be paid into the county general fund and expended only for expenses related to the storage and transportation of bodies for purposes of autopsy or any other postmortem examination as provided in this article. The coroner shall be responsible for providing the county commission itemized statements of all expenses due to be paid for the costs of storage and transportation of bodies as provided in this article and upon receipt of an invoice, the county commission shall make timely payment of incurred expenses. If the coroner has complied with Section 11-5-52, the county commission shall pay the expenses from monies deposited in the county general fund and expended as provided in this section.
