Text

(a)Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, except for those citizens of Birmingham that reside in Shelby County and those citizens of Birmingham that vote in the general election outside the Birmingham city limits, the polling places for municipal elections in any Class 1 municipality shall be the same as the polling places for general elections.
(b)The polling places in which the Class 1 municipal election are held shall be in compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Justice for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, shall submit all required information to the U.S. Department of Justice for pre-clearance to hold the election in time to receive the appropriate approval and conduct the election at the time specified by law, and shall provide
