Text

(a)The Legislature finds that in all Class 1 municipalities some recipients of extraordinary disability benefits awarded prior to May 23, 1977, did not have a longevity component included in the monthly salary used to calculate their extraordinary disability benefit and hereby intends to remedy that omission.
(b)In all Class 1 municipalities, notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in any section of Article VI of Act No. 929, S. 676, Regular Session 1951, as amended, all recipients of extraordinary disability benefits whose longevity payment received during the year prior to their disability was not included in the amount of monthly salary used in the calculation of the extraordinary disability benefit shall receive an increase in the monthly benefit of 70 percent of one-twelfth of
