In case any building or structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted, or maintained, or any subdivision is established or land used in violation of this chapter or of any ordinance or other regulation made under the authority conferred hereby, the county attorney, or other appropriate administrative officer of the county in which the violation occurs may institute any appropriate action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance, or subdivision of the land or use of the land to restrain, correct, or abate such violation, or to prevent the occupancy of any such building, structure, or subdivision of land or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business, or misuse in or upon any
