The officers of an authority shall consist of a chair of the board, a vice-chair of the board, a secretary, a treasurer, and such other officers as the board deems necessary or desirable. The chair and the vice-chair of the board shall be elected by the board from its membership but neither the secretary, the treasurer, nor any of the other officers of the authority need be a director. The offices of secretary and treasurer may be, but need not be, held by the same person. The officers of the authority shall be elected by the board for such terms as it deems advisable. The duties of the chair of the board, the vice-chair of the board, the secretary, and the treasurer shall be those that are customarily performed by those officers and as may be prescribed by the board.
