11 SCOTT YOUNG, et al., Case No. 1:24-cv-00608-KES-SAB
12 Plaintiffs, ORDER REQUIRING PARTIES TO SHOW CAUSE IN WRITING WHY SANCTIONS 13 v. SHOULD NOT ISSUE FOR FAILURE TO FILE DISPOSITIONAL DOCUMENTS BY COURT 14 KEYSTONE RV COMPANY, ORDERED DEADLINE
15 Defendant. (ECF No. 7)
16 DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 27, 2024 17 18 On October 31, 2024, Plaintiff filed a notice of settlement of this action. (ECF No. 6.) On 19 October 31, 2024, the Court issued an order setting the deadline to file dispositional documents 20 within twenty-one days, or by November 21, 2024. (ECF No. 7.) The deadline to file 21 dispositional documents has now expired and the parties have not done so, nor requested an 22 extension of time from the Court. 23 Local Rule 110 provides that “[f]ailure of counsel or of a party to comply with these Rules 24 or with any order of the Court may be grounds for imposition by the Court of any and all 25 sanctions … within the inherent power of the Court.” The Court has the inherent power to 26 control its docket and may, in the exercise of that power, impose sanctions where appropriate, 27 including dismissal of the action. Bautista v. Los Angeles Cnty., 216 F.3d 837, 841 (9th Cir. 28 2000). The Court shall require the parties to show cause why sanctions should not issue for the 1 | failure to file dispositional documents in compliance with the Court’s order issued October 31, 2 | 2024. 3 Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that: 4 1. The parties shall show cause in writing no later than November 27, 2024, why 5 sanctions should not issue for the failure to file dispositional documents by the 6 deadline required by the October 31, 2024, order (ECF No. 7). The parties are 7 advised_that filing dispositional documents without also filing documents 8 showing cause in writing why sanctions should not issue does not constitute 9 compliance with this order; and 10 2. Failure to comply with this order will result in the issuance of sanctions. 11 0 IT IS SO ORDERED. FA. ee 13 | Dated: _ November 22, 2024 STANLEY A.
