Opinion
Appeal by defendant from a judgment of the County Court, Suffolk County (Coutant, J.), rendered August 21, 1981, convicting him of assault in the first degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence. Judgment affirmed. Under the circumstances of this case, defendant’s claim that he was denied the effective assistance of counsel is without merit (see People vBaldi, 54 NY2d 137). Gibbons, J. P., Bracken, Brown and Niehoff, JJ., concur.
