ENFORCEMENT OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS The Department of Labor has the authority and duty to enforce the provisions of the Oklahoma Occupational Health and Safety Standards Act of 1970 against the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. The Attorney General is in receipt of your letter wherein you ask, in essence, the following question: Does the Department of Labor have the authority to enforce the occupational health and safety standards against the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority? Oklahoma adopted the Oklahoma Occupational Health and Safety Standards Act in 1970, now codified as 40 O.S. 401 [
