Opinion

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF MONTANA

AF 08-0203

IN THE MATTER OF THE MONTANA ORDER

CODE OF JUDICIAL CONDUCT.

On April 23, 2008, this Court issued an Order circulating for comment by the members of the Bench and Bar the proposed 2008 Montana Code of Judicial Conduct. In the Order, we set a 60-day time limit for comments, which limit would expire on June 23, 2008. Having now learned that there was some delay before the proposed Code was electronically published on the website of the judicial branch and the website of the State Bar of Montana, we deem it appropriate to extend the comment period. Therefore, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the comment period with respect to the proposed Montana Code of Judicial Conduct shall be extended through and including Friday, July 11, 2008.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this Order be circulated electronically by the office of the Clerk of this Court to all district court judges in the state of Montana, and to all judges and justices of the courts of limited jurisdiction. The Clerk shall mail a hard copy of this Order to those judges or justices of the courts of limited jurisdiction who do not have the capability to receive electronic submissions. In addition, a copy of this Order shall be electronically published on the website of the judicial branch, http://www.courts/mt.gov, and on the website of the State Bar of Montana.

DATED this 21st day of May, 2008.
