1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 9 FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 10 11 JOHNNIE RICO, Case No. 2:24-cv-1975-TLN-JDP (PS) 12 Plaintiff, 13 v. ORDER 14 STEVEN GONZALEZ, et al., 15 Defendants. 16 17 Plaintiff, proceeding without counsel, has filed his second motion asking this court to 18 unseal records filed in a state court criminal case. ECF No. 13. As with his prior motion, the 19 instant motion neither explains how the records relate to this action nor provides any authority 20 suggesting that this court has the authority to grant the requested relief. More fundamentally, and 21 as previously explained to plaintiff, such an attempt to unseal documents filed in state court is 22 more appropriately addressed by asking the state court to unseal the specific records. See Casler 23 v. Bressler, 221 F. App’x 553, 554 (9th Cir. 2007). 24 25 26 27 28 ] Accordingly, plaintiff motion to unseal state court records, ECF No. 13, is DENIED. 2 3 IT IS SO ORDERED.
