6 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE 7 WESTERN DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON AT SEATTLE 8 LEOBARDO MORENO GALVEZ, CASE NO. 2:19-cv-00321-RSL 9 et al., STIPULATED MOTION AND ORDER FOR 10 Plaintiffs, EXTENSION OF DEADLINE v. 11 UR JADDOU, et al., 12 Defendants. 13 14 COME NOW, Plaintiffs and Defendants, by and through their counsel of record, pursuant 15 to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 6 and Local Rules 10(g) and 16, and hereby jointly stipulate 16 and move for an extension of 14 days until July 28, 2023 for the parties to submit a joint status 17 report. 18 A court may modify a deadline for good cause. Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b). Continuing dates is 19 within the discretion of the trial judge. See King v. State of California, 784 F.2d 910, 912 (9th 20 Cir. 1986). The parties previously attempted to achieve a negotiated settlement of Plaintiffs’ 21 claims. Dkt. 85. That attempt was unsuccessful, and the Court directed the parties to submit a 22 joint status report on or before July 14, 2023. Id. The Court ordered the parties to propose 23 amendments to the current permanent injunction that “are consistent with the Ninth Circuit’s 24 1 instructions and analysis.” Id. The Defendants are consulting on a proposal and need additional 2 time to complete that work. 3 Therefore, the parties believe good cause exists for a brief stay to allow the parties to 4 prepare the joint status report. In light of the above, the parties jointly stipulate and request that 5 the Court:
