(A) A Circuit Court Judge may appoint referees or masters, who shall have power to perform such duties of the Circuit Court as may be prescribed by Supreme Court rule. (B) With the concurrence of a majority of the Circuit Court Judges of the Circuit, a District Court judge may appoint magistrates, who shall be subject to the superintending control of the District Court and shall have power to perform such duties of the District Court as may be prescribed by Supreme Court rule.
